SOUSHINE FSR408, 15 mm*100 mm, Force Sensing Shunt Resistor (30g~10kg).The FSR 408 model is a single-zone Force Sensing Resistor® optimized for use in human touch control of electronic devices such as automotive electronics, medical systems, and in industrial and robotics applications. FSRs are two-wire devices. They are robust polymer thick film (PTF) sensors that exhibit a decrease in resistance with increase in force applied to the surface of the sensor. Interlink Electronics FSR 400 series is part of the single-zone Force Sensing Resistor family.

Features:

  1. Actuation force as low as 0.1 N and sensitivity range to 10 N.
  2. Easily customizable to a wide range of sizes
  3. Highly repeatable force reading; as low as 2% of initial reading with repeatable actuation system
  4. Cost effective
  5. Ultra thin; 0.40 mm
  6. Robust; up to 10 million actuations
  7. Simple and easy to integrate

Applications:

  1. Detect and qualify press - Sense whether a touch is accidental or intended by reading force
  2. Use force for UI feedback - Detect more or less user force to make a more intuitive interface
  3. Enhance tool safety - Differentiate a grip from a touch as a safety lock
  4. Find centroid of force - Use multiple sensors to determine centroid of force
  5. Detect presence, position, or motion - Of a person or patient in a bed, chair, or medical device
  6. Detect liquid blockage - Detect tube or pump occlusion or blockage by measuring back pressure
  7. Detect proper tube positioning
  8. Many other force measurement applications

Package Includes:

1 x SOUSHINE FSR408, 15 mm*100 mm, Force Sensing Shunt Resistor (30g~10kg)

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
