Elecvora sources this product directly, cutting out multiple middlemen. Every order includes free shipping, a 15-day return policy, and secure payment via Razorpay.

The SmartElex Rotation Sensor is an incremental rotary encoder that converts rotary motion into digital pulse signals, making it ideal for detecting direction and position. Unlike potentiometers, this sensor supports endless rotation with 20 pulses per revolution, allowing precise control in both directions. Operating within a 3.0V to 5.3V range, it is compatible with a wide variety of microcontrollers like Arduino, STM32, and Raspberry Pi.

With simple three-pin interfacing (SIA, SIB, SW), it’s perfect for menu navigation, motor speed control, and DIY electronics. Comes with a 5-pin cable for quick integration into your embedded systems or robotics projects.

Note: Refer to User Manual in the ATTACHMENTS section for more info. regd. the product.

Features:

  1. 20 pulses per revolution for accurate step control
  2. Endless rotation without mechanical limits
  3. Incremental output (SIA & SIB) for direction sensing
  4. Push-button switch built into the encoder (SW pin)
  5. Wide voltage range: 3.0V to 5.3V
  6. Compact and breadboard-friendly design
  7. Durable and responsive rotary control
  8. Easy interfacing with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32

Package Includes:

1 x SmartElex Rotation Sensor

1 x 5 Pin Cable Interface

Setup Guide

1
Identify the pins
Locate VCC (power), GND (ground), and data pins (SDA/SCL for I2C, MOSI/MISO for SPI, or TX/RX for UART). Refer to the pinout diagram on the product page.
2
Wire to your microcontroller
Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V (check the module spec), GND to GND, and data pins to the appropriate GPIO pins on your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
3
Install libraries
In Arduino IDE, go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries and search for the sensor library. Install the recommended version.
4
Upload example sketch
Open File → Examples → [library name] → Basic Example. Upload to your board and open Serial Monitor to view output.
5
Calibrate if needed
Some sensors (temperature, humidity, distance) may need a short warm-up period or calibration. Run the calibration sketch if provided.
